Ragnarocktoberfest returns for it’s 7th year running, and in the midst of a west coast dynasty with Red Tide winning the last three Rags in a row after beating Dauntless in the finals last year, with both teams looking for their third Rag title in that match. But you can’t just focus on those two teams, there are teams capable of winning from multiple regions competing this year. Orca Company is always a strong contender, the predominantly east coast team creating a west coast sister team this year in Orca Pacific, we’ll have to see how that works for their inaugural run. The Pacific Northwest has been growing in recent years, with Fox Ups steadily improving year over year and Downpour having a strong rookie showing last year.
The return of another east coast team, Beef Squad, will be an interesting story to follow as it’s not uncommon for them to end up on the podium, but this is a new game type for them, so how they adapt from the group stage to the bracket stage will be important. We can’t forget local teams like BAD, Void, and Battle Cats that play this game type all the time, with plenty of experienced players that can increase their teams chances of winning each match they play. This is just a brief bit about some of the teams, we’ll be sure to go into far greater detail during the livestream of the tournament on Sunday, October 4th.
